Nikolaos Germanos is a Footwear Designer and Print Textile Designer.

Born in Sparta, Greece, Nikolaos graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2009,
receiving third prize as an emerging young artist in a Mediterranean-wide competition.

Always craving for modalities of expression that are closer to people, he moved to London
and enrolled at the prestigious Central Saint Martins where he studied
Footwear Design and Textile Design. He went on to the London College of Fashion to study
Luxury Brand Management and Product Design, Marketing and Shoe Making.

He started his career in Fashion as Digital Designer intern at Emilio De La Morena Fashion House
and worked as illustrator and craftsman for several years in production lines.

Nikolaos is inspired by art, architecture and street culture. The core material
he loves to work with remains leather, which serves both functionality and creativity.
Shoes for him are not only an object for walking but an experimental tool of freedom, which is why
he loves designing high heels as much as sneakers.

He learned the art of shoemaking by working under old-school shoemakers and by collaborating with
technicians and machine operators in Italy, Greece and the Czech Republic.
His manual skills and dexterity in combination with his CAD skills
allow him to independently develop prototypes and first samples.
He hand-sculpts wooden lasts and develops first samples
from patterns all the way through the various construction stages,
always focusing on comfort and exquisitely handcrafted details.
